What does the name Mambi' mean?
Pronounced "Mahm-BEE", the Mambi'
were the valiant folks from the Cuban countryside,
who took up simple arms (such as their machetes)
and defeated well equipped Spanish armies, to help
win Cuba's independence from Spain in the late
1800's.
Now a proud citizen of the United States of America,
Sensei Diaz shares that Mambi' heritage with us
here, as he contributes to the health, training and
development of American youth and adults through
Judo and Personal Fitness endeavors.
